Research training is in the core of URGENT, as it builds stronger capacity for better green and blue innfrastructure in partner countries through the development or national research and teaching expertise. URGENT supports this in a number of ways, most of all by bringing about improvements in management and quality assurance, by creating new teaching contents and making them available online, by streghtening and institutionalising links with stakeholders and, non the least, by cteating an exposure of research trainees to research and management expertise available across the whole URGENT consortium including 16 academic and praxis organisations active in URGENT cross-cutting topics. Furthemore, sbased on the specific spots of academic excellence of partner institutions, and the needs of partner countries, URGENT provides a research framework encouraging partners for more coherent and coordinated research effort insuring their visibility and policy relevance of the outputs.
