Management
The URGENT project management structure guarantees an efficient and well-balanced decision style, where all of the subunits contribute to the quality of the project outcomes (deliverables). Effective communication will be assured through planned meetings and regularly held video conferences. These meetings will coordinate activities on project WP’s and review progress and quality control of results. The Special Management Platform (SMP) will be used for management, quality control and joint work.
A Project Coordinator (PC): University of Bremen (P1) – UNIHB
- leads WPs on Development of URGENT e-services and Management;
- organizes Kick off meeting;
- provides the overall day-to-day project coordination
- oversee the development of e-services
- provide input to dissemination (co-development of URGENT website)
- contributes to curriculum development and review through the involvement of experts from its Sustainability Centers
- co-pilots new disciplines related to the management of green infrastructure
- provides review to other disciplines.
- The project coordinator will be ultimately responsible for the reporting to EACEA, and will subcontract auditors to audit project finances for the purposes of EACEA final reporting.
National Project Managers (PM) established at each Partner Country (P5&P11)
National University of Mongolia (P5) – NUM
NUM will be project focal point in Mongolia. The University will lead WP1 (Preparatory activities) and WP6 (URGENT dissemination and exploitation). NUM will host URGENT Sector Interaction Platform and e-learning & e-science services.
- development of eLearning modules and MOOCs;
- development of URGENT www portal;
- development of transferrable skills courses and learning materials;
- implementation of URGENT research training;
- organization of URGENT summer school.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (P11) – JNU
JNU will be project focal point in India. The University will lead WP3 on Development of URGENT e-services. The University:
- will also contribute to all the other project activities;
- will contribute to the revision and development course work;
- will participate (doctoral research students) and contribute (lecture) in summer schools;
- will host URGENT conference;
- will host on-site seminars for faculty, technicians, and administrators will be combined with the national and regional dissemination conferences;
- will support the project outcomes after the Project is over.
The Steering Committee (SC): supporting and supervising the project management
For the successful management of URGENT we will select a Steering Committee (SC) that will be composed of one representative from each of the participating partners and will be chaired by a representative of the Coordinator.
- The comprehensive training program for PhD students, administrators & technicians will be approved by the Steering Committee by M4, based on the pre-application study.
- The Coordinator, Vice-Coordinator and Steering Committee collect information about the project dissemination & exploitation (launching courses, PhD training, LMS deployment); the implementation progress will be tracked using QCM, while purpose and efficiency of mobility streams will be controlled through a dedicated online system.
- WG2.3 coordinates a range of URGENT training activities related to the development of curricula and learning materials following the program approved by the Steering Committee (M4).
- WG3.4 coordinates a range of URGENT training activities related to the development and deployment of URGENT e-services, following the program approved by the Steering Committee (M4).
- WG4.3 will oversee the training program supporting development, establishment and sustainable operation of URGENT governance infrastructure. The final training program will be approved by the Steering Committee by M4
- WG5.3 helps the project manager and the Steering Committee to oversee QA of staff development, IT deployment & dissemination.
- WG6.3 submits to the Steering Committee a work plan for the URGENT Open Science conference by M20.
European Commission:
The project will be carried out with assistance from the European Commission (Project Officer and Erasmus+ Offices) and, due to the project nature and objectives, partners will pay attention to involving relevant (external) stakeholders in the assessment of the project milestones.
